All of our structures begin their journey with a solid concrete base which would continue to be insulated with 75mm Celotex and finished with a 60mm concrete screed. We find this gives the longest lasting and sturdiest base on the market.
From here we use a 4×2 c16 timber frame to create the walls of our garden rooms. We then use 5×2 timbers to layout our ceiling joists which will cover any reflection over the distance.
Note: If the garden room you desire requires larger timbers this will be calculated.
After securing the ceiling joists, we quickly board them to create a sturdy base for the roof. Given the unpredictability of the British weather, it’s crucial to install our EPDM rubber roof as soon as possible. EPDM is an ideal choice due to its durability, flexibility, and resistance to the elements, often lasting 30 to 50 years. Once the roof boards are in place, we adhere the EPDM membrane using a high-strength adhesive, ensuring a smooth, watertight seal that protects the garden room from rain, wind, and other harsh weather conditions.
Lastly, we install all fixtures and furnishes such as timber work, fascia’s and any electrical/plumbing fixtures. Exterior cladding finish will be installed finally after a breathable Tyvek membrane has wrapped the building sealing all the weather out and allowing air to pass throughout the building.
